I shot the cover of the October 2011 issue of  The Atlantic.  We photographed a model, William Coleman, in my studio to illustrate a story about how the NCAA may be taking advantage of atheletes.  Hair, makeup, dirt and sweat by Nikki Wang

Thanks to Samantha Caruthers for the behind the scenes photos.

If you’re on Amtrak, look for my cover of the September/October issue of Arrive magazine.

Last month I photographed John Paul DeVito for Forbes at Ground Zero.  The Freedom Tower is pictured behind him.  John Paul lead 13 coworkers from the 87th floor of One World Trade Center to safety just seconds before the collapse of building number Two.  In the article he writes about how the events that day changed his life.

You can read the full account of his experience that morning on the New York Times, dated 9/16/01

Olgilvy has produced another ad from our Huggies Slip-on shoot.

If your flying American, check your seat back pocket for the September 1 issue of American Way Magazine for my photos of Chevy Chase.

Remarkably there are 4 different covers!

Thanks to Brynwood Golf & Country Club for letting us shoot there.  They totally hooked us up with everything we needed, including thousands of golf balls.

Behind the scenes by Micaela McLucas.

Styling by Valissa Yoe.

It’s a little late but I finally got a copy.  My Michael Stipe photo is on page 153 of the 2011 Photography Annual.

Anupam Mittal is an internet entrepreneur who started Shaadi.com, “the worlds largest matrimonial service”.  I photographed him in June for JWM, a magazine for the JW Marriott hotel chain.

Here is a picture I shot last week for Barron’s of Tom Kolefas of TIAA-CREF.  It’s always nice to shoot on a rooftop in NYC but unfortunately often hard to gain access.  I shot Lisa Black on this rooftop 8 years ago.

I like this shot that my assistant fired off to test our tether.  It shows me and the publicist on the roof.  Just needs a chopper in the background.

Last October I photographed Murray Nossel for Forbes.  Murray, an oscar nominated director, teaches people how to tell stories through Narativ.  He also  does an amazing two man show with his friend Paul Browde called Two Men Talking.  We had a great shoot.  Thanks to Ramscale for letting us shoot there.

I recently shot a Huggies campaign with Ogilvy & Mather to launch a new product called Little Mover’s Slip-On Diapers.  It was just featured in the New York Times in last Friday’s business section.  They talk about the product and the ad campaign, specifically the TV spot, directed by Bruce Hurwit.  At the end of the article they interview Ogilvy’s Chris Turner, the Creative Director focusing on the visuals.  I had the pleasure of working with him along with his partner Creative Director David Metcalf who wrote the brilliant copy.

My son Wyatt is a total rolling pin.

I also shot the diaper package.

There should be a couple more ads produced from our shoot soon…

I recently photographed the CA Technologies Sustainability Executive Summary.  Thanks to Addison for the opportunity.  They previously hired me to shoot a campaign for the Institute of Management accountants.

David Zwirner, Leo Koenig, Bettina Funke, Tobias Meyer and Anton Kern- German players in the New York art scene for Manager Magazine.

Leo Koenig

A funny story: while talking to Leo Koenig during the shoot, we discovered that he moved into my very first NYC apartment, in Williamsburg Brooklyn, immediately after I moved out, in 1996.  It’s a pretty incredible coincidence.

If you’re flying American Airlines, be sure to check out your seat back for my Michael Stipe cover.  Michael is really great to work with.  I had the pleasure of photographing him once before, in 2004 for New York magazine.

You can read the story in American Way.

Here are some photos from my 2004 shoot:

Check the March 14 issue of Forbes for my photos of Clayton Christensen.  It’s one of my favorite covers I’ve done.  Read the story here.  Clayton is 6’8″ which took me completely by surprise!  Somehow I missed that in my research.  He has some really interesting ideas.  This one really blew my mind.

My friend Mark Wilson took some cool behind the scenes iPhone photos .

Big thanks to Robert Mansfield and the art department of Forbes for such a sublime cover edit and design.

Here are some of my favorite outtakes.  By the way, that’s a door he’s standing in front of, not a window.

If you are flying, check your seat pocket for the January 1, 2011 edition of American Way magazine.  They asked me to photograph him with a bunch of paper airplanes for the cover to mark the 45th anniversary of the publication.  I decided it would be best to composite them after the shoot.  We shot the planes separately in the morning before he arrived. You can see them below. He was really relaxed and easy to work with. Thanks to Betsy Semple at American Way for the call.   Thanks also to Stefanie Syat for grooming and Josh Freiwald and Seth Personett for helping me make all of those paper airplanes.

This photo was the inside opener in American Way. Also pictured are John's bulldog, Puddy, and our stylist for the shoot,Stefanie Syat.

I recently shot Tim Wu of Columbia University for Forbes.  It was a cool shoot.  Here are a few of my favorites. Tim is a very interesting guy. He is a law professor who is all about keeping the internet free. Here he is telling congress what for. And here is a great interview with him on Charlie Rose.  He has a new book called The Master Switch.

Check out my cover for the first ever Ipad only edition of Parenting magazine, Parenting Seasons.

I couldn’t believe my ears when Forbes magazine asked me to photograph the famous 20×24 Polaroid Land camera.  This is the very same camera used by Andy Worhol, Lucas Samaras, David Levinthal, Chuck Close, etc.  Built by Polaroid in the 70s, when they went bust in 2008 John Rueter rescued the camera and the film stock and put them to work at  20×24 Studio.  You can see the Forbes piece here.  Thanks to Jennifer Trausch, Director of Photography, and John for their patience with me, letting me touch it, and posing for pictures.

…sometimes you just have to hurry.

I recently photographed the CEO of Honeywell, David Cote, for NYSE magazine.

It was a cover shoot.  We set up 2 shots in an airplane hanger.

The cover setup lasted 1 minute 20 seconds

For the inside picture I shot 4 minutes.

Then he hopped in a plane and flew away.

We went next door and took some more pictures…

I have to say that I am always really pleased with the layout and reproduction in NYSE.

Thanks Victoria Rich at Time Inc Content Solutions for giving me the opportunity.
