I photographed Shane Smith for Forbes at the Williamsburg, Brooklyn, offices of Vice.  We also shot at his favorite after work spot, Hotel Delmano.  You can read the story here.

I have the cover of the January issue of Scientific American.  We photographed in the studio to illustrate a feature on the aging process.

I really enjoyed photographing  Elinor Giobbi.  Below are a couple of raw outtakes.  I look forward to getting deeper into these images.

Smart Money always hires me to do some unusual images.  Here are 2 that are in the January 2012 issue.

Leo

Dec 202011

Here’s my latest animal, Leo.  Leo was very nervous.  But he is a good sport and a beautiful Pomeranian.

I had the pleasure of seeing the show at Manhattan Theater Club.  It was a great performance.  It’s currently in previews and opens 12/19.  Just like Cradle and All there is one big poster beside the theater entrance on 131 W 55th Street.

If you’re in the neighborhood, check it out. It should be up for a couple of months.  You may find me there, staring at it, I’ve yet to see it in daylight.

My photograph of Jacqueline Novogratz graces the cover of the latest edition of Forbes magazine.  Here is the story.

Jacqueline Novogratz has created a non profit fund called Acumen.

Here are some outtakes from our shoot.

This is my 9th Forbes cover.  The do not come about that often and it’s always an honor.  My last one was Clay Christensen.

Here is a photograph I took of Jacqueline in 2004 for Fortune.

And here she is on Charlie Rose.

I am fortunate to have been enlisted by Spotco to photograph David Hyde Pierce and Colby Minifie for a new play at Manhattan Theater Club called Close Up Space. Previews begin December 1.

You can see more work I’ve done with Spotco here.

Here are some images I shot for the November issue of Outdoor Life magazine.  It was an intense day as we did 5 complicated shots in a fairly small studio.  Three of them are included in this post.

Luckily, Some Studio is in the heart of NYC’s flower district.  With the help of Stylist Ellen Silverstein, we procured bundles of corn stalks, bags of fall leaves, a small Japanese Maple and 350 pounds of sand.

Thanks to my crew Josh Freiwald and Richard Solinger for their hard work.  Also thanks to Ellen and her crew, August Goulet and Lisa Metropolis for making a corn field, beach and wind. And Thanks to our model, Kevin Witt, for wearing 4 layers of insulation on a very hot day, all day.

And many thanks to Justin Appenzeller and Jim Walsh of Outdoor Life for the art direction and the opportunity.

But maybe I’m biased.

Last year Forbes hired me to photograph the founders of a website called Airbnb which facilitates short term apartment rentals.  I photographed them in a property listed on their site which they happened to be staying in for the week.  You can read the article here.

They are, above from left: Nathan Blecharczyk, Brian Chesky (in mirror) and Joe Gebbia.

I have been working on some new dog photos.  I have a huge pile of animal and baby photos waiting for my attention.  I recently added these two as a spread to my printed portfolio.

Shilo has amazing eyes.  Their like headlights in the dark.  They radiate light.

Murray, the Boston, is my sister’s dog.  He has a new partner, Maggie. Maggie has a wider white patch on her face. She has turned his world upside down. My daughter is crazy about Murray and Maggie.

You can see the rest of my animals here.
